Hi! I’m Meredith, a long time plant-based eater, former creative person turned science nerd, and your veg-friendly nutritionist.

I understand how difficult and confusing it can be when it comes to planning a plant-based diet as well as discussing any medical related issues to a physician who doesn’t understand this style of eating. I know because I was (probably) just like you. After learning about factory farming as a teenager, I became a vegetarian and eventually went vegan when I was in undergraduate film school. At the time, I had NO idea how to plan my vegan diet let alone how to cook. I did it all completely wrong, lost a lot of weight and then gained even more back, felt hungry all of the time, and mostly ate cookies and processed foods as long as they were labeled “vegan”.  Eventually, I went back to a vegetarian diet, though I wouldn't consider it “healthy”, despite fully believing in what veganism stood for but feeling that I just couldn’t do it.

For years, I worked in video post production in NYC and with that came crazy hours and tons of free junk food. I didn’t prioritize my health or body and ultimately got burnt out. My priorities also changed as I got much more interested in food, health, exercise, and even cooking. Although I loved working in a creative field, I decided to leave my career to focus on health through the lens of a plant-based diet. I’m now a licensed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD), Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist in the state of NY and I specialize in helping individuals optimize their plant-based diets whether it’s to ensure that they’re meeting their nutrient needs and/or reducing medical-related symptoms through food choices.

As an RD, I only provide scientifically backed, evidence-based nutrition advice. The research on plant-based diets consistently indicates how beneficial having a diet full of plants is. And while I encourage everyone to incorporate more fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and whole grains I also believe that it’s important to still enjoy things like pasta, chips, chocolate, and cake. I truly believe that health and happiness come from a well-balanced diet that emphasizes plants but also leaves room for the other stuff.

If any of this sounds familiar and you’re already plant-based, transitioning to a veg diet, or just want to incorporate more plant foods into your current style of eating, I’d love to help!  Please contact me for your free 15 minute discovery call to see if working together will help you.
